Distorted Silence

Welcome to Distorted Silence

Distorted Silence is a relatively new multi-range band out of Florence, South Carolina. Small is what we're all about. We cover everything from punk to rock to hardcore to blues to funk to jazz to ska to acoustic to just plain insane! Enjoy =)

Whats New?

12/16- I bet you're wondering "why havent they updated the band site in so long, they must be dead! oh no!"...wrong, wrong young sparky, we are far from dead. In fact we gave birth to a brand new site! Its still under maintainence, but most of the links are working, and we have a forums page now too, so head on over to the new site and click away.

11/23-
The middle school dance was incredible! thanks again to Half Way There for playing with us...hope everyone loved the show as much as i had fun playing it. Dates for the HWT/DS "Cheese & Trans Am Tour" will be emerging shortly.
11/11- The Veteran's Day performance rocked! thanks for all those who gave up part of their lunch time and came and saw us. Fun times. The Middle School dance is coming up, and rumor has it that hwt will be playing with us...which is good news.
11/9- Well, at first i was happy because i saw the band page has almost 900 hits. Then i realized that 800 of them are probably from me and charlie. oh well. so, this tuesday is the DS Veterans Day Memorial concert thing at Trinity, with guest bassist Spencer Fails and guest drummer Tyler Perry. its gonna be pretty cool. If you dont go to Trinity but still wanna come, skip school and come out to Trinity at 11:40.
10/26- Hey this is charlie...i've got some some.....well, shit i can't describe it. just go to the frikin' picture page and you'll see what i mean. Had a short rehearsle today and the shrine now smells like, as mike would say, illegal voodoo skull. my fault. hey this is mike now! yes indeed it does smell like illegal voodoo glow magic mushroom skull (inscense). practice was fun. i love cheese. fear the clam!
10/17- Two potential gigs booked at Trinity...see the gig page for details.
10/12- I added new additions to the "Band Members/ History" section...you can now click on each members name and see their full musical history and bio...an "in-depth" look on each of our lives...as if you wanted to know. They're up and running, but will be complete in about a week.
10/11- After much contemplating, mike has decided to audition new bassists, because kirk is very busy, and the shows must go on, as they say...if anyone's interested, email mike and tell him, but i'm pretty sure that no ones going to, so its anyones game for the time being...so far Trey Jordan, Spencer Fails, and Tony Allman have signed up. All are subject to whether or not kirk withdraws.
10/9- The specs on the Pecan festival have been discussed, and theres a solid date. Trey is also in the recruiting stage of joining the band.
10/1- Happy October everyone...anyway, DS was invited to play at the Pecan Festival next year...not sure what it is, but we have a gig at it =P. Josh's Halloween party is comming up as well. Emily also makes her triumphant return to the #1 groupie spot(as much as it doesnt matter =P). many apologies to emily.
9/20- I thought i announced that there was a December Tragedy concert last night...but anyway...HWT was there and they did AWESOME! The venue was crazy...fun was had by all. In other news, a new song, "Choked" (written by Charlie), was completed today. Today Trey also came over and auditioned for a part, and will probably be joining DS soon, yay. And finally...the groupie list has been "altered" due to a request by the band members...the official statement is "for all the pain and shit emily has put many of fuahs members through, she can no longer be our numero uno groupie". And thats all for now...nite nite.
9/13- Mike has been called to perform in a talent show at Trinity on Sept. 26th. Mike also gets paid tomorrow, which will mark the christening of the band room, which is officially named The Shrine (to music). rock the hell on!
8/26- A wise man told me that the entire time ive been updating the site, ive been doing the news backwards. heh, my mistake...they are now in order with the newest news at the top. In other news...Mike and Charlie hung out with our good friends Half Way There yesterday...much fun was had, as well as a kickass cover of Taking Back Sunday's "Cute Without The 'E'". There has also been some controversy over the drummer, but for now its Matt until posted otherwise.
8/10- Matt has officially upgraded his status in the band to include piano, which he will be playing in an upcoming song that he has written. Woot!
8/9- Mike makes an appearance on
HWTs picture page!!! Details about what went on after that homo-erotic glance are strictly confidential. =P
8/2- Check out all the new styles of shirts in the MERCH section!!!! Radness! Order your FUAH or DS shirt todaaay!
8/1- Mike got ANOTHER new guitar yesterday (lucky bastard)...bought cheap from Charlies sister...rock on! JM, Jordan, and Michael G. are all now friends of FUAH.
7/31The HWT concert was awesome! They came, they saw...they pissed off some baptists hahaha. There are tapes that you can see...i think someone recorded them...head to
Halfway Theres website. In other news...Mike got a new guitar, a nice Gibson Flying V, which he thinks is ugly, but hey, it was free. Practice pictures comming soon...
7/29The sites comming along well...thanks for all your support so far. This TUESDAY at Ebenezer Baptist Church at 8p.m., our brother band HALF WAY THERE is going to be performing...check it out! sixteen songs...rock on!

Thanks

Thanks to Mom, Dad, Half Way There, Rachel, Steve, Joe Loe, Melly, all the friends, Whitney O'Kelly, Kyle, Everyone who came and saw our first horrible gig, anyone who has heard us and sees where we're comming from.
